What is this? Well, when in Sæby (a small town in northern Denmark) in the weekend, I took a walk through the city, and I passed by Sæby Church, so I went inside to take a few pictures. I must admit that I'm definitely not much of a "church goer" to say the least, but the ceiling paintings in this place were just amazing and really well kept. The tree balls in the center are some sort of decoration on the hooks of a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. Don't know if they have any practical purpose?
I use this as my Photo Friday "Symbol" entry, because a) It has sort of a general symbolic quality, i.e. it does not really resemble anything until you know what it is; b) It has some religious symbols in the background; and c) I really need to get some visitors through to this site - the statistics look a bit sad - and Photo Friday generates a bit of traffic :-)
Have a good one -- Chris
